Where does the name "Edge 4" come from?


The name "Edge 4" was selected to represent the 4 edges (advantages) that we can offer your website. These include: The Design Edge, The Development Edge, The Maintenance Edge, and The Marketing Edge.

Does Edge 4 guarantee their work?


Yes. Edge 4 will correct any error that is determined to be our fault at no charge to the client. Please note that the use of content management does makes it possible for clients to introduce errors into their own websites. Fixing any errors specifically caused by the client's actions will be charged at our normal hourly rates.

How secure are Edge 4 websites?


Edge 4 has taken every precaution to make sure that our websites are as secure as possible. This is the reason that all Edge 4 websites are located on Edge 4 servers. By using servers that only contain our websites, we have eliminated the potential risks associated with other websites that we do not control.

Almost all websites can be converted to use The Content Manager. Please note that to use The Content Manager your site will need to be hosted by Edge 4.

Yes. Once The Content Manager has been set up for your data, it can be imported. Please note that a fee will be charged each time data is imported.

How many users can be set up to make changes for my website?


There is no limit to the number of users that can be set up to maintain a website. There is also no additional charge for having multiple users.

Can access be restricted for users making changes to my website?


Yes. The User Permissions Module offers the ability to easily specify which pages and/or modules that each user can access. Users can also be allowed to access all pages and/or modules.

What exactly are modules in The Content Manager?


A module is a group of pages that have been created for adding, editing, deleting and viewing a specific kind of data. For example, the Events Module is used for maintaining the event information that is displayed on a website.

What advantages do modules in The Content Manager offer?


Typically, it is much easier to maintain a large group of data using a module than it would be by editing the content of a site page. The module not only automatically specifies the information to be entered, but it can also often be filtered to find specific entries. The module information that appears on a site page can also be custom formatted.

Why are there so many modules available for The Content Manager?


There are so many modules because there are so many different kinds of information. For example, the Events Module contains fields of information that are typically needed to define an event and the Employees Module contains fields of information that are typically needed to define an employee. In general, having a different module for each kind of data makes the process of managing content much easier and faster.

What if I need a new module created for The Content Manager?


New modules are being created all of the time. However, please note that the cost for a new modules depends on whether this module could be used by other clients. If there is a common need for a new module, then the module could most likely be created at no cost to you. On the other hand, if a new module would only be of use to you or your company, then you would be required to pay the cost of the custom module.

The Content Manager includes help menu selections and help icon links throughout the system. Also, if you need further assistance, one hour of phone or email support is automatically available every month at no charge.

How do I get a domain name for my website?


Domain names can be purchased at any registrar (such as Go Daddy, Network Solutions, Register.com, etc.). It is a nominal charge and the cost will be less depending on the number of years purchased. Edge 4 can assist you in purchasing your domain name. If you already have a domain name, we will simply point it to our server once the website is complete.

How can I get my website to show up on Internet search engines?


There are so many factors in getting your website listed high organically on the search engines that they can't all be listed here. The truth is that it is a complicated and somewhat time consuming process. However, the first step is preparing your website to be favorable for the search engines and submitting your site map to notify them to visit your pages. This can all be done during initial development.

How do I get email addresses with my website domain?


POP3 email and unlimited email Aliases come inclusive with your monthly hosting fee. We will assist you in setting them up or you can have administrative access to the email server for user management. The number of users per account is dependent on the plan that you have signed up for.
